Details of Wreaths Across America Event at Great Lakes National Cemetery Changed for 2020

*No Public Ceremony will take place! Please do not go to the cemetery for the ceremony*
Wreath Laying on Our Heroes Grave Sites:
Due to Covid-19, large gatherings of people are not allowed. In order for us to even have any type of Wreath Laying Event, the Planning Team had develop a multiple day strategy. Trucks with the wreaths are not allowed at the cemetery, so we had to secure a local “Wreath Distribution Site” where we could provide a “Drive-Thru” situation in order to keep everyone safe.
Our planned distribution Days and Times are as follows:
Wednesday, December 16, 2020 – 1 to 4pm
Thursday, December 17, 2020 – 1 to 4pm
Friday, December 18, 2020 – 1 to 4pm
Saturday, December 19, 2020 – 9 to 12noon
Wreath Distribution Site:
ASCENSION GENESYS HOSPITAL NORTH PARKING LOT (POLLOCK ROAD)
1,000 Wreaths will be distributed each day. For safe, social distancing a Drive Thru will be set up. Wreath Limit: 1 or 2 Wreaths per person In your vehicle.
After you and your family pick up your wreaths – It is up to you to decide when you want to go to the cemetery to place your wreaths to honor our heroes. Plan your trip to the cemetery. Please be aware that if you go to the cemetery on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday – There will be active interments in progress. Maybe you would prefer to go to the cemetery to place your wreaths after hours or on the weekend.
This year we will be placing wreaths in Sections 1 – 12B.
